Brendan snagged an iced coffee and chatted with Steve about his downtown Davenport coffee shop.

If you visit or live or work in central downtown Davenport, you may sometimes find yourself wondering, "Where can I get a great cup of coffee around here?" in the late afternoon.

Coffee Envie is here to help. The shop was opened by Steve Hall, a local chef, in June 2018. It's located in the lobby of the new Scott Community College Urban Campus.

"For two and a half years, I'd been interested in getting out of the kitchen," Steve said. "I had been teaching part-time but I want to teach and open a coffee shop."

After waiting a while to find the right location, Steve found out that SCC was building a new campus downtown, and after interviewing, he was selected to be the lucky person to occupy a cafe space in the new building.

Cold caffeince on a hot day. Be still, my heart.

Coffee Envie really wants to be everybody's coffee shop, from students to families to bank presidents, by offering a large variety of hot and cold drinks, lunch specials, and baked goods. Steve's excited about the momentum in downtown Davenport, including big events like Alternating Currents. He loves all the new things in the area, from The Current Iowa hotel to the Triple Crown Whiskey Bar & Raccoon Motel to Cru and Analog. He especially recommends trivia night at Me & Billy on Wednesdays with a lively crowd and great drink specials.

Thanks, Steve! Check out Coffee Envie in downtown Davenport.
