How do we get around?
Unless otherwise specified, your tour is provided in a comfortable, clean 12-passenger van, meaning there's plenty of room for your guide and up to 11 members of your group. We provide free wi-fi and bottled water in the van.
altSTATES is a one-man shop, so you'll be led and driven around by Brendan. Brendan has obtained proper licensure and insurance to drive the van and has a great driving record. altSTATES complies with all relevant state and federal transportation regulations.
Does each guest need to sign a waiver?
Yes, each guest on the tour must read and sign his or her own copy of our waiver and release of liability. This can be done in advance of the tour date or in person before the tour begins. Guests under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign the document.
Private tours and transportation services
Do you also provide group transportation without the tour part?
We'd be happy to work with you, so feel free to start a quote or contact us. Throughout our business, we take safety seriously: we're authorized as a transportation carrier with the State of Iowa and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and your driver is CPR certified.
Can you pick up my group somewhere outside the Quad Cities?
We're based in Davenport, Iowa, but we are able to provide services in other areas. Request a quote to get started.
What's your private booking cancellation policy?
We're a small business and each dollar means a lot to us. But, if you need to cancel, we understand. We're happy to provide a full refund (including any deposit paid) if you cancel at least 14 days prior to your private outing.
Safety is our top priority. To that end, altSTATES withholds the right to cancel a tour for safety reasons at any time, including on the day of the tour if necessary. Midwest weather can be a bummer, but have no fear: tours cancelled by altSTATES will result in a full refund (including any deposit paid). Weather-based cancellations will be initiated as far in advance as possible, but altSTATES reserves the ability to cancel throughout the tour (for example, if unexpected severe weather occurs after the tour begins). Such cancellations are very unlikely, but our top goal is to protect the safety of you, other guests, and your guide.
