Hey, Brendan here. I'm the founder and Millennial madman behind altSTATES. I want to provide some additional information on the change we're making to our brewery excursions, why we're making it, and what's in it for you.
First, the change: we're no longer offering home or hotel pickup within the Quad Cities.
Why we're making this change:
- After recent tours, several guests brought up the point that riding around the QC while you pick up and drop off other people is sort of a pain. it generally takes at least an hour to complete this process before and after each tour, which is especially annoying when you're a little tipsy after trying some great local beers.
- The QC is lucky to already have many safe, cheap transportation options, including Uber and Lyft, which allow you to get a ride with a few taps on a smartphone, as well as local taxi companies.
What's in it for you: I love providing top-notch service and value to guests, and this change will allow us to keep our current tour price, which is the lowest price for this type of tour that I've been able to find anywhere across the country. In addition, we'll be better able to meet local demand by offering 2 excursions (instead of one) on Saturdays starting Mar. 3. As always, our brewery excursions will continue to include 3 stops with a beer or flight at each brewery included in your ticket, transportation between breweries in our upscale van (complete with free snacks and bottled water), and lots of fun.
We've picked meeting spots for our tours which offer ample free parking and we'll make sure that you have all the information you need in that regard. In addition, we are now offering a $33 designated driver ticket option, which includes all the fun of the tour except for the free beer. If you can't convince a friend to be the DD, I encourage you to stay safe by using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi.
Thank you for reading and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope to see you on a tour soon!
